Here are some excerpts from the week's letter from Motra Bezas . . . hopefully these give a flavor of the life of a missionary in the Missionary Training Center.
Hello FAMILY!
I can't believe it's already been six weeks since I've been here. Less than 3 weeks before I hit the ground running in the field.
So I haven't written my email for you all so hopefully I don't repeat things in both...
So K has been out in the field for a week or so and wrote me. She is doing so wonderful. Her comp is great! It has already been 119 degrees while she has been there. (I know. aren't I glad that I'm going where I am?) Actually, I am finding out that it is VERY hot there in the summer in Albania. Only Kosovo is REALLY cold.
Oh, before I forget, so we get a phone call when we go to the airport. They have phone cards we could buy here. But I am hearing some are having family send a pay-as-you-go-phone that they can chuck after they are done using it (in the airport). That gives the missionary more time to talk. I don't fully know the rules. I'll find out, but I just wanted to let you know.
It finally hit me this week I'm leaving soon. I grew really discouraged one day and began to cry. I don't feel prepared but I know that I'll never "feel" prepared until I'm there. I know a lot of vocab, but grammar...HA! That is a rough one. But I'm determined to change that. I do every night. Last night I worked on grammar by myself and my brain hurt. Motra K and D are now starting to be on the same page with the language, and now I sometimes feel dead weight in lessons. I know it really isn't that way, but it just feels that way.
A cool experience I've had recently: I was bearing my testimony in Albanian to our girl investigator, and I told her that Heavenly Father loves her. The Spirit was right there. I could not deny it. He loves us all so much! I know this!
I love you all! Thank you for being my family! :)
