42nd pday email from Albania!

Well, with all the crazy travel and because we got to Macedonia later in the evening, I can't fully express all the miracles and blessings that happen this week. I know that our Savior Loves  and that he is SO THERE at ANY time and in ANY place. He is there. All we have to do is to find HIM! Like In the video, Because He lives. It is up to us to put forth the effort and do all we can to become close to him. I know that I saw and Sister H saw that this week with the Love Jesus Offers us. We are His Children! We are his precious gems!

Motra Bezas traveled to Macedonia to pick up her new companion, Sister B
I know that we can gain this knowledge for ourselves through daily study in the scriptures and constant prayer. That as we express the true feelings that is in our hearts, we will then begin to understand all that he has for us. Because he have let him in. And so he will do the same for us. I know this with all my heart. Because He LIVES! I Can feel His Love he Has For Me.

41st pday email from Albania!

Dear Loved Ones,

This week we saw many amazing things that took place before us in our lives each day.

First off finding. This week we made a goal to pass out 14 pass along cards with a testimony, 2 Book of Mormons in unique ways that were unexpected, and 5 Ensigns of the recent General Conference. The Lord blessed us with those that were ready to receive these precious gifts into their lives.

An amazing experience we had was we were walking the streets and walked pass this one smaller road that went off this main road and we both looked down it and saw a group of little grandmas sitting on lawn chairs in a circle. I can remember Sister H saying, "You in the mood to crash a party, or does it look intimidating?" I remember we looked at each other and just smiled and said, "Let's do it!"

Two amazing miracles happen as we walked up to these daughters of great worth. First, as we began to talk with them a lady with a girl in a wheel chair were going passed us and Sister H pointed out to the lady and girl in the chair that it said the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on the back. As we talked to them for a moment, we ended up getting their number and invited us to come  by anytime.

After we finished talking with them we  went back to the group of ladies and asked if we could show a short film with them. We ended up showing Because He Lives. I just remembered that as they all gathered around in their chairs to see the little dvd player Sister H was holding, it was a landmark moment that I will remember for the rest of my life as a reminder of why I am here on a mission. As I watched the faces of these women, I felt that this is what Missionary Work is all about, giving people an opportunity to have them get to know their Savior.

We had an amazing experience with a less active member. We were walking down the street a few weeks back and I saw her and stopped her and said Hi. She hadn't been coming to church for more than 6 months and I just felt that I needed to invite her to do a lesson with her. She totally agreed and so this last week we finally got to meet. As talked with her, I saw how great her knowledge was in the Gospel and noted how she she sees how the gospel has taken a huge impact in her life and that as of late, she has noticed the difference it makes in her life.

The spirit and wisdom that was with bore witness to me that we don't know right off the bat who the Lord is preparing for us and where they are at in their journey of life down the path of righteousness. That is why it is so important that we talk with everyone and ask that if they know of anyone that might be interested in the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their life.

Worked with another woman this week in Preach My Gospel and saw how she is has been studying the scriptures so diligently everyday with prayer.

Had an amazing lesson with twin sisters and their mother we have been teaching we got this week. We have been seeking ways how we can relate the Gospel to these girls' lives. I remember one companion study we were praying together and felt that the Plan of Salvation was what they needed at this time. As we planned their lesson the spirit guided it and as we went to teach it, the spirit was there again taking it step by step.

And it was the first time that we noticed that it was the first time we felt that their knowledge was being expounded upon. It was a really cool feel. Like a muscle was being stretched. I know this is the same for each of us. We are so blessed to have a Savior who is so merciful and gives us plenty of opportunities to learn and grow and stretch.

Two amazing Active Lessons we had this week were with another two women. One asked to do a lesson with us and so the day came and as we went into the room two other members came into the room and joined us as well last minute. One of the members has been struggling with his testimony and I knew that the Lord was guiding him to be in the lesson we had prepared for her.

The funny thing that we noticed about the whole situation and noted it afterward was that they were all totally different in personality but in the end with the spirit and the gospel, they were all special to their father in heaven. I felt the spirit testify to me personally that these were the precious members of the church here that were going to keep this ward moving forward and that they were preordained for this role at this time. They were sent here to help the people of this area. Knew that they knew each other before this life and knew what they would be facing them.

With another woman, we had a awesome lesson with her at her home. We went into her conversion story and how she came into the church. Her story just inspired me that no matter how long it takes, the Lord is always waiting for us to come unto him. He is so patient! But as we taught her and she taught us, she began to speak of members of the ward that have become less active and I can remember that as we began to talk about how as we reach out to others, we are blessed incredibly.  Well as the lesson went onward the spirit guided the whole lesson and as we walked out of that lesson we found a window of opportunity of doing lots of less active work with her and had even planned to go to a lady the next day that she would show us were she lived.

I remember by the end of that day Sister H and I just felt the spirit was just with us and we felt that we really did all that the lord needed us to do that day. As Elder D called us for how our goals went for the day, we talked about our success and the goals we had planned for the next day and I can just remember him asking us, "Are there any plans for tomorrow that you don't feel 100% confident about will go through?"

I remember looking at the schedule and saw the less active lady's name planned and felt that was something that we didn't feel was 100%. As we told him, he then asked if we could say a prayer together over her name. As I did so, I felt the spirit guided my words as to what I needed to ask for as we were on the phone. Once the prayer ended Elder D mentioned an impression he had received during the prayer, "There are others that she has to give to you. So just keep working with her."

It was a witness to me that the Lord knows who is in need of his love and his grace in their lives and has felt trust in us to do his work.

This week as we met with another woman. We showed Because of Him and after she watched it, she had wiped away her tears and said such a sweet and simple statement: "It says here at the very end of the video, 'Find Him', but all in all... I have found him." I remember her eyes lit up and a warmth about her that gave a deeper witness to us of the conversion that is taking place in her life.

A cool experience street contacting this week as a group while showing bible videos that the church has been coming out with. There was a woman sitting a bench watching the film we were showing. I walked over and sat down and began to talk with her. By the end of the conversation I found out she had been taking the missionary discussions in America but she has been here for a bit but will be going back soon. Her English was pretty good but she mentioned how the missionaries had to get sections translated into Albanian. I then asked her if she wanted to get more thing Albanian before she goes back. She said she would love that and so we then began to plan a time to meet again so we could give her a few things to help her understand the gospel more. It was yet another witness to me of how God places people into our paths.

An unique experience I had this week was at a baptism we had this week was with this couple and as I watched the wife getting into the water, I felt the spirit fill my soul and felt that the Lord was pleased and that I felt there was words that almost said as, "Well done." That they were meant to be found. It brought tears to my eyes realizing how each person matters to our Father in Heaven.

In the end though, the biggest thing that I got out of this week was with our Lesson we had with another woman. She is one of our Recent Converts that got baptized two months ago. She has seriously blossomed with the Gospel and has taken deeper interest in the knowledge of the Gospel. This last week we challenged her that she was going to teach us the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That she was going to be teacher and us the students. She right away accepted the challenge. Yesterday during our lesson with her she taught with power and saw firsthand the spirit working through her strongly and was so astonished by the power of her testimony that was throughout the lesson.

But the part that stuck with me the most was a question that Sister H asked, "So what happens if we don't repent?" I remember that the woman looked at first a little lost but then looked determined and was quiet for a moment and finally said, "We Then don't take his name upon us." We both were completely shocked at home straightforward she was but realized that what she said was true.

The finally thing that stuck with me from her lesson was when she shared how when she first took the lessons a year ago she wasn't really interested and that she felt other things took first priority and moved the gospel stuff off to the side; She noticed that the Lord was still protecting her and watching over her and blessing her because he knew of her faith that she had in him.

I know this is true for each of us. Our Lord and Savior is a merciful one and that all that he does is for us because we matter to him!! I love this gospel and all that is provides for us. As we take up his name!

Keep Being that Beacon of Light!

40th pday email in Albania!

Ckemi Family and Friends,

This week, Wow, it was one of stretching and lifting and rising to new challenges and facing fears and simply pushing forward with Faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that I was called here at this time to Serve here with Sister H. I know that the struggles we are seeing in our investigators and the people we come in contact with on the road, I know that we were preordained to help these precious children of God to help them up from the dark ashes of the world.

So On Monday after we had finished our Preparation Day we got a call from one of our investigators that she wanted us to come over right then. We then booked it over and the way she talked on the phone it sounded as if she was dropping hints that she was not wanting to meet with us anymore. My heart sank as we were going over and I just pleaded that the spirit could be with us as we taught with her.

Once we got there she brought us in and I just remembered that I was really on edge in worry for her. With time she told us that she has started to take Anti Depressants of cigarettes and coffee. As she went on she finally sighed and said that she knew she could not get baptized until she stops taking them to follow the word of wisdom and was sounding on the verge of just giving up.

I remember we began to just testifying that she mattered to her Lord and Savior and that what she was going through, we were going to work through, together. We testified that as she worked with us to help get through this time in her life, she would be able to conquer this with God and she would never be alone.

I then felt an impression of a memory that my mother did when I was going to school back home. We would all be leaving in the morning really early and so she would always read a scripture and do a morning family prayer every morning before we left to start the day right. Sister H and I both felt that she just needed the spirit constantly in her life and so with this impression I felt to then share with her this experience with her and then asked if this was something that she would like us to do for her. By calling her on the phone before she goes to work at 5:30 and share a scripture and start the day with a prayer together. She said she would really love that. Another thing that we felt impressed to ask her was if she wanted a Priesthood Blessing for health and comfort for the trials she was facing. She said she would like that as well. Through the lesson she also wanted us to end the day together with a closing prayer. It was such a cute thing we couldn't help but smile.

I testify that The spirit has been stronger with her as have met with her. We have seen the Lord bless us as we sacrifice each morning to get up for a few minutes to give a spiritual start. But I know that the blessings already coming forth in her and our lives.

An amazing experience we had this week in street contacting as a group was with this family that was visiting from Brooklyn from America. The parents were both from Albania but not live in America. Their daughter that was 17 was born in America in the New York life. The cool experience I saw with this family was Elder W speaking with the Father and I began talking separately to the Mother and her daughter.

At first I could tell right away the daughter was not at all interested in talking with the missionaries, but I saw with time that I followed the spirit, I began to ask her questions that opened her up and I felt for a moment that the Love of God and appreciation and worth was working through me to touch her heart that was broken. To feel that she MATTERED! I could see the love her mom had for her but didn't know how to express it fully to her daughter that her daughter didn't reject.

I felt that this moment was a moment of seed planting for them so when the missionaries come into their lives again, they will be willing to listen to them again just a little bit longer and with time have their hearts gain a desire and conversion for their Lord and Savior.

Something that Sister H has given a challenge and activity every time something doesn't go through is to give a certain amount of English Course Flyers and Pass Along Cards for others. Something that we changed up about this activity was to give a one sentence of a testimony as we gave them the pass along card.

The last experiences I wanted to share start with  Zone Training!

MY GOODNESS! THE SPIRIT WAS JUST FANTASTIC!!

There was so many things I learned that I don't want to go on forever but the biggest things I learned is that we are here to bring others to Christ, that could also be the members that are active, recent converts to the church, or even less actives. Another I learned was more of the confirmation of the new Goal for every transfer of having 4 conversions for each companionship. This could count people that have already have come into the fold and need an extra boost to gaining their long lasting conversion. The emphasis of going out and doing serve and doing all we can to study and to develop Charity in our lives.

The second last experience I wanted to share was connected with finding the four conversions everyday was with a sweet less active member. The more interesting part was she contacted us to know if we could do a lesson. As we met her, the spirit guided the lesson completely and with time, she expressed her deepest desires of how she wants to serve a full time mission but felt she didn't know enough to go. We testified to her that not a single missionary knows everything and that as we teach and testify our testimonies grow bigger as we serve and love others. We then asked her if that she would like that we could meet once a week and work through Preach My Gospel together to help prepare for the day to go on a mission when the Lord needs her to go. She was so thrilled that we offered and accepted willingly.

This whole week the Lord has blessed us with getting in contact with Less Actives in the ward here. Whether it be on the road or on the phone or at church, The Lord saw our efforts and desires and gave us the opportunities to accomplish our desires.

The last extraordinary experience that we had was coming home last night. As we walked home we had a challenge to talk with people and give out a certain number of pass along cards and testify. Well, the last two we stopped, we received an amazing experience with a daughter and a mother. We began talking about the English Course and as we began to talk with them, they also began to be interested in the lessons we had. We then made an appointment to meet with this week. They were just so golden by the tender kindness that had. I know that the Lord blessed us by putting them in to paths because of our efforts this week.

I know that the Lord is aware of us and desires to receive all that he has for us. He just waits for us to come unto him. And how we do that is by becoming like him along the way with Charity and by doing it till the very end.

Remember Charity starts with a single step.

Love, Motra Bezas

39th Pday Email from Albania!

Dear Lovely People,

This week the Lord has blessed me with new insight of our purpose of who we are and why we are here. To use our Agency to follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

Something that was said at one dear family's baptism - it was their special day of starting on their path through the waters of baptism. It was from a councilor from the Bishop: "Without the Holy Ghost, we would not be able to know that Jesus is the Christ!" That really resonated with me. I knew that without a doubt that that was true and how important it is for us to STRIVE every single day to be WORTHY of the SPIRIT of the LORD! That is part of the endurance process while we are here. Once we receive the gift of His spirit to be with us we need to become like him every day by keeping ALL the commandments of God and to stand firm in the faith.

This week Sister H and I saw so many amazing things this week. I know that she was called here to find those who need her witness and light in their lives. An example of this we saw this week was while we did a big street contacting, there were these people that she was talking to that were from actually Macedonia (where she just got transferred from)!!! Talk about the Hand of the Lord or what?! It was such an example of the Lord for me to see how he is wanting all that want his gospel in their lives, to have the chance or even multiple chances to accept the gospel in their lives.

Another example of the Hand of the Lord this week was taking a member out to our investigator who lives pretty far on foot. Well come to find out that this member knew one of our investigators. Their families grew up together! It was so cool to see how they connected right away and how there is no such thing as coincidences with the Lord.

I simply want to testify that the Lord blesses us in our journey. At the beginning, the middle, the end, and sprinkled throughout out them. Well, I have come to see how the Lord blessed us with two new investigators that daughters of a father who is a member of the church. They are just amazing daughters of God that are looking for the great truth.

I know that if they take this gospel into their lives with real intent and follow the commitments, they will come to know for themselves that this has the fullness of the gospel for them to come to know the Savior more than they have ever have before. Their examples are just amazing to me of diligent in studying the Bible. It gives me a drive to understand even more the words of the apostles that witnessed the miracles and light and messages he taught.

An amazing experience happened with another investigator while we visited her with the member. We were teaching her the Priesthood and half way through she was feeling really sick and I felt impressed strongly to ask if she wanted a Priesthood Blessing for Health. She said she would love that. So we brought Elder D and Elder W with us and went to her home. Before they did the blessing we went more into a lesson with her about the Authority and Purpose and Importance the Priesthood is and the great power there is with giving and receiving blessings.

Well, she listened intently and even gave greater depth. She is seriously Golden! So she went and grabbed a chair. (Motra Bezas then shared some really tough things that had happened to the investigator.)

I can just remember the moment she sat down in the chair, she looked at me. And for a moment, it was as if our spirits connected and that I felt just an ounce of what she had gone through and with the trials she was facing right now. The words of a hymn I had sang a million came into my mind, never had made a greater connection than it had at this moment.

Come, come ye saints
No toil nor labor fear
But with joy, wend your way
Though hard to you,
This journey may appear,
Grace shall be as your day,
Tis better far for us to strive
Our useless cares from us to drive
Do this and joy, your hearts will swell
All is well! All is well!

Why should we mourn?
Or think our lot is hard?
Tis not so, all is bright
Why we think to earn a great reward?
If we now shun the fight
Gird up your loins
Fresh courage take
Our god will never us forsake
And soon we’ll have this tale to tell
All is well! All is well!

We’ll find the place
Which God for us prepared
Far away, in the West
Where none shall come
To hurt of make afraid
There the saints, will be blessed
We’ll make the air, with music ring,
Shout praises to, our god and king,
Above the rest these words we’ll tell
All is well! All is well!

And should we die
Before our journey's through,
Happy day! All is Well
We then are free from toil and sorrow, too;
With the just we shall dwell!
But if our lives are spared again
To see the Saint's their rest obtain,
Oh how we'll make this chorus swell-
All is well! All is well!

I began to understand that this song is applicable today as it was for the saints crossing the plains. I remember that after the blessing, the elders left and we did a lesson with her. I remember holding her hand throughout the whole lesson and felt how fragile her trials are making her. But I knew that deep inside, that her spirit was strong and that she needs this gospel to help gain her full strength back.

As we began to leave she asked if she could walk us back onto the main road. We tried to have her stay and rest, but she insisted because she wanted to get out of the house, since she was cooped up all day inside. So as we walked, she hooked onto my arm and I just remember asking a question. Her answer brought tears to my eyes. "Oh Motra, I have done my search. I was Muslim, Jehovah's Witness, and you name it, I've done it. I know that this is the only TRUE church in all the world."

Her simple straight forward answer was so inspiring to me and gave me such a great example to me: THAT WE CAN DO HARD THINGS THROUGH CHRIST!

I know that this is the time the Lord has given us. To help others to come unto Christ and by help each other to become more converted to the Lord. Sister H is just so inspiring to me and all that she teaches me every day while we have been serving together. I know the Lord called us together to help lift each other up.

An experience of this was a few nights ago. We had finished everything and went out to the porch of our house and talked about our existence and the Pre-Earth Life and our Agency and the coming of our Savior and so many small details, I began to gain a bigger understanding of all that we do here is by our use of our Agency and the actions that come from it.

I know that the Lord has given us this life to do one of two things: Following the Liar of all Flatterers, Satan, or to Come unto Christ and stand in his perfect grace and Atonement that shines down for all to experience. I know that there are times in our lives there are days we don't want to face or we don't think we can go much longer, But this I know. He has been there. JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOR HAS BEEN THERE.

No matter what a person has gone through or is going through He is there, ready to catch you.

"Pray always, that ye may not faint, until I come. Behold, and lo, I will come quickly, and receive you unto myself. Amen."
   - Doctrine and Covenants 88:126

I know that He is there. All we have to do is come unto him, by becoming like him, and we will begin to understand who he truly is! The Son of the Living God who has suffered for the Sins of the World so one day we can return to live with him again!
